Rethinking What's Possible.
DEAN FOR D5
We won! On November 5 2019, hundreds of volunteers showed up to help us win the election for District 5. We ran an unapologetically progressive and honest campaign, and we made history as the first SF democratic socialist campaign to win in 40 years.
That election was to finish out my predecessor's term. In 2020, I am running for a full, four-year term. My vision for San Francisco remains the same.
Since entering office in December, we have been fighting to secure affordable housing, tackle homelessness, protect small business and help victims of car break-ins.
We have hit the ground running:
Filling Vacant Storefronts. Working with D5 small businesses to pass Proposition D and fill vacant storefronts in our neighborhood commercial districts.
Extending rent control. Initiating legislative changes to extend rent control to tenants of Midtown Apartments in the Fillmore whose homes are at risk.
Preserving Mental Health Care. Fighting to prevent the closure of the Parkview Board & Care residential mental health facility for seniors in the Haight.
District 5 Navigation Center. Working every day to locate a site for a long-awaited Navigation Center, because we all do better when people can go inside.
Auto burglary victim assistance. Launching a pilot prevention program and partnering with the District Attorney to provide victim assistance for residents whose car windows are smashed.
As Supervisor, I am focused on the priorities we campaigned on together, and working with all neighbors in District 5 to identify the issues that we need to address. So please contact us with your ideas!
LET'S BUILD A BRIGHTER FUTURE & MOVE FORWARD TOGETHER.
